Myface cosmetics is a make up brand founded by John Frieda and Gail Federici (of Frizz ease and Sheer blonde haircare fame) and has been available in Boots in the UK since 2008. However I have only recently heard about its products and was thrilled to receive a collection of goodies in the post from the company! This cosmetics brand claims to be "foolproof colour collections for your skin tone" and therefore the website and products are split into fair, medium and medium dark and shows you which colours will work with your personal skin colour. I really like this idea because many tones of lipstick and eyeshadow simply do not suit my fair/medium skin and it is nice to get a bit of advice from a website on colour choices. However this does not make the choices limited in any way and their bling bar collection is full of eyeshadows and nail colours in a wide variety of colours. So lets take a closer look at this exciting collection!
My collection from Myface cosmetics - Mymix foundation in Fair 02, Blingtones eyeshadow and lil bling nail chromes in limelight and raspberry beret and slinky liquid liner in paint it black.
The nail colours are chrome and at only £5.99 are much more affordable than many of my favourite nail polish brands. They are meant to look like molten metal and can be bought to match the blingtone eyeshadows which makes them great for presents or simply colour coordinating your make up. The finish was great and very different to my usual matte or glitter nail finishes. They seem very futuristic and would be lovely for teenagers. I personally found them a little too young for me but my younger sisters enjoyed wearing them!
The blingtone eyeshadows are £9.99 which isn't as affordable as many other drugstore brands however the pigment and pay off are so good that it justifies the price. A very small amount of product was needed and I applied them to both of my sisters using just my ring finger and blending out onto the lid. The colours are vibrant and have the perfect amount of glitter in them to create a bright almost wet look. I was impressed with this product and would recommend to ladies who want to create dramatic colourful eye looks without the fussy or messy application!
The eyeliner was easy to use with a matte black finish and worked perfectly with the eyeshadows to create a dramatic eye look. I personally enjoy using gel liners more than liquid and therefore would not repurchase however at only £6.99 this impressive liner is a great investment for you liquid loving ladies! The liner lasted all day and didn't flake or smudge - result!
For me though the real star of this range is the Mymix foundation. Available in fair, medium and medium/dark and various shades within those categories, I was sent fair 02 which was perfect for my natural skin tone but I may have to go a little darker after a layer of fake tan! At £12.99 it is not the cheapest foundation on the market however the results are comparable to my £31.00 Chanel Vitalumiere Aqua foundation so in my eyes this is one of the best value foundations I have ever tried! The texture, finish and even packaging are quite similar to my favourite Chanel and the sheer but buildable coverage is really refreshing from my usual heavy feeling drugstore foundation buys. I will be repurchasing my Chanel purely because the foundation feels very luxurious to use however when I am running low on my beauty fund I will definitely be purchasing the Mymix because it performs almost exactly the same as the Chanel but without destroying my bank balance!
I love this foundation!
Overall, I enjoyed using this range and will be purchasing the foundation and a few of the blingtone eyeshadows to create my party looks this Christmas! Well done My Face cosmetics!
